| Can you use a normal wah pedal with the jm60? or do you have to use the j8? |

Well, of course you can use a regular wah pedal between the guitar and JM60/120, just like with any amp, but to use the built-in wah function (also the tuner) you have to have a J-8. It's the only thing that works with the digital pedal port on the back of the amp.
The JM 150/250 do have a pair of analog pedal ports that will work with regular volume pedals or most keyboard rocker pedals (plus a digital J8/J12 port). That doesn't help you much, but it can be handy for the bigger amps. |

Thats good to know. This amp seems pretty particular in what you put in it. And I look at some FAQ that made me second guess on the wah pedal. Especially since the manual said you should only use rack mounted effects in the fx loop. Anyways, I purchased a cry baby after I read you post. It should be here in a few days.
I must say I'm impressed with it. It's uncommon to find a modeling amp that sounds better at high volumes. And the bass response... forget about it. It shakes my windows with the volume on 3.
Anyways... thanks |

| Has anyone tried using foot pedals in the fx loop? I realise the manual suggests not to do this. However, there has to be somebody besides myself that doesn't read manuals until the last resort. |

Probablythe only the reason they say don't put pedals in the effect loop is 1) the levels may be too hot for a lot of pedals 2) unless it's a stereo pedal, only one channel gets effected (which might be kind of cool) 3) since it's post-preamp, post chorus/delay/reverb, it doesn't really make sense to put a wah or distortion there unless you're -trying- to create weirdness....
An Electrix Repeater or Oberheim Digital Echoplex would be great there, then you could overdub different sounds and put entire arrangements into those boxes to solo over. |

prob. no reason to reply to this sence it's been so long but pedal chain into the fx loop on amp do not work well at all. There are alot of reasons however siple fact is your signal gets boosted to much and sounds all out of wack. I just run the guitar though the chain and put the chain directly into the amp input. this keeps my signal even although i here with the right setup(rack ect) the fx loop is supposed to be killer. So go figure lol. |
