Over four years were spent in researching and designing the Johnson line of amplifiers and the results speak for themselves. Johnson Amplification is a pioneer in the field of tube integrated modeling amps. So, what is tube integrated amp modeling? It is the emulation of several different types of amplifiers with the use of an actual tube. Johnson Amplification is currently the only modeling amp that employs real tubes. This is one of the reasons that Johnson amps sound so close to the amplifiers that we try to emulate. Another reason for the accuracy of our emulations, is that we examine the frequency response, the EQ points, and the roll off of those great amps, and match those specs. Other modeling amps use generic EQ points, and roll off.

If you want the sound of a British Stack...push a button. If you want the sound of a vintage American Combo...push a button. It’s that easy. Johnson Amplification also provides effects processing which those great historic amps did not include. Adding any of those effects, or removing them is as easy as pressing a button. The entire family of Johnson amps also include dozens of user and factory presets. Once you have the amp type that you need, and have the proper processing, you can store your tone to a preset. Recalling dozens of different presets is as easy as using a footswitch, or turning the Select dial on the front of the amp. Every preset can have a different type of amp and different effect settings. Every preset can have varied amounts of gain for the selected amp, and different EQ settings.
