Jeff Kollman
Jeff’s prolific career has featured a wide variety of projects and achievements. Among those is his recent collaboration with original members of legendary rock group UFO. The new release, entitled "Chocolate Box," is due out this summer. In addition to filling the shoes of guitarist Michael Schenker, Jeff also co-wrote and co-produced all eleven tracks. Also slated for release this summer is Jeff’s new solo instrumental album, "Shedding Skin."

Since claiming first prize in Ohio’s Best Guitarist contest in 1991, Jeff has had an active career as an instrumental artist, producer, studio session player, and the guitarist and key songwriter for the vocal group Edwin Dare. This group has received international notoriety for their virtuoso musicianship and melodic song writing. Edwin Dare has three releases which have charted in Japan, including their acclaimed album "Can’t Break Me." They have appeared on numerous compilation discs along with bands such as Great White, Rainbow, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath.

Jeff has written and recorded over 50 songs used as background music for several television networks, including ESPN, ABC, TNN, Nickelodeon, The Discovery Channel, and MTV. Budweiser, Nissan, and Mountain Dew are among Jeff’s many commercial credits. He has worked for Cherry Lane Music (Guitar for the Practicing Musician) as a songwriter and instrumentalist with subsequent appearances on compilation records with other high caliber guitarists, including Nuno Bettencourt (The Extreme), Eric Johnson, and Blues Saraceno.

Jeff has two instrumental releases on Legato Records (Bandai) and is featured on bassist Keven Chown’s release "Freudian Slip." Jeff’s most recent release, "Into The Unknown" charted at #42 in Japan (Nov. 96).

As a studio guitarist, Jeff has worked with members of The Yellow Jacks, Bruce Hornsby, Linda McCartney, Lyle Lovett, and Bob Seger’s Band. He has worked along side studio aces such as Kenny Aronoff, Lee Skiar, Abe Laboriel, Tim Pierce, and Nashville great Matt Rollings. Jeff’s guitar playing is also solo featured on John West’s album "Permanent Mark" on Shrapnel Records.

One of Jeff’s newest projects is a group including Barry Sparks (bass) and Shane Gaalaas (drums), both former members of The Michael Schenker Group and Yngqie Malmsteen’s band. Led by the soulful, bluesy vocals of singer Robby Wycoft, the fresh, hard-edged music has a powerful combination for great songs. Together with the rhythm section of Sparks and Gaalass, Jeff has released a new instrumental CD under the moniker COSMOSQUAD. This awesome trio weaves elements of jazz fusion, latin rhythms, blues and rock into an eclectic blend in their self-titled debut release.

Jeff is also busy producing and writing for solo artist Donna Roth. Donna’s pop songwriting style is accentuated by the bluesy, gospel influence of bandmate Candace Mayfield (Curtis Mayfield). Listen for Jeff’s guitar work featured on 7 cuts from the NBA’s forthcoming CD, "Jam In The Paint," with performances by Charles Barkley, Julius Irving (Dr. J), Shawn Kemp, and many other NBA players.

Last year, Jeff completed the monster 1998 G3 tour of Europe with Michael; Schenker Group. Other acts appearing in some shows of the tour included Joe Satriani, Uli Roth, and Van Halen.

When he is not touring, Jeff continues his feverish pace with numerous guitar clinics and studio projects.
